Work together on shared boards

A shared board is a kanban board you own and other people work on with you. Households, study groups, and small teams are the natural fit: chores, trips, projects — anything where several people need one visible plan. There is also a shorter shared boards feature overview.

Create a board and invite friends

Create a board, name it, and invite members. Only accepted friends can be added, so the connections come first: exchange email addresses and send requests as described in add friends and climb the leaderboard. Once someone accepts your friend request, you can add them to any board you own.

Move work through columns

A board is a kanban: tasks are cards, and dragging a card into another column moves the work along. Columns map to three states — To do, In progress, and Done — and they are customizable: rename them, add more, and reorder them to match how your group actually works.

Board tasks are deliberately simple

A board task has four fields: title, description, due date, and priority. The richer fields on personal tasks — categories, tags, subtasks, recurrence — stay personal; see create and organize tasks. A board card carries only what every member needs to read at a glance.

Assignees, and a copy for everyone

Board tasks can have an assignee, so ownership is explicit: one card, one responsible person.

Quick-add also supports a different mode: create a copy for everyone. Each member gets their own copy of the task to complete individually. Use it when the point is that everyone does the thing themselves — a form each person must submit, a chapter everyone should read before the next meeting.

XP goes to the completer

Completing a board task awards XP to the person who completed it — not to the board owner, and not to whoever created the task. Group work feeds individual streaks and the leaderboard just like personal tasks do. The XP rules, including the daily caps, are in how XP, levels and streaks work.

Updates appear on refresh

Shared boards do not sync in real time yet. Another member's changes appear when you refresh or reopen the page. If a board looks out of date, refresh it — that is expected behavior today and a documented limitation, not a bug.
