Track habits with weekly targets

Dongu habits use a weekly target and a Monday to Sunday grid you tap to check days. No daily perfection needed, and each check earns XP.

A habit in Dongu is something you want to do regularly — not necessarily daily. Every habit has a weekly target: the number of times per week you aim to do it. That single design choice shapes how habit tracking feels day to day.

Create a habit and set a weekly target

Create a habit and choose how many times per week it should happen. Three workouts. Five reading sessions. One call home. The target is per week, so the rhythm of the habit is yours to define.

Weekly targets beat daily perfection

Daily habit tracking punishes a single missed day. A weekly target absorbs it. If your target is three times per week, any three days count — Monday, Wednesday, Friday, or three days back to back. Both patterns hit the target.

This makes targets honest for things that should not happen every day, like strength training, and forgiving for things that occasionally slip, like reading. Missing Tuesday costs you nothing if Thursday still gets you to three.

Check days on the week grid

Each habit shows a Monday to Sunday grid for the current week. Tap a day to check it. The grid gives the week at a glance: which days are done, and how close you are to the target.

Each check earns XP

Checking a habit earns 5 XP. A check counts as an XP-earning action, so it keeps your streak alive even on days when no tasks get completed. Habit XP has a daily fairness cap, like every XP source — the details are in how XP, levels and streaks work.

Habit weeks follow UTC days

The week grid runs Monday to Sunday using UTC calendar days, and "today" is the current UTC day. If you live far from UTC, the day rolls over at an unusual local time — a check late in your evening may land on a different day than you expect. It is a documented limitation, worth remembering if a check ever seems to sit on the "wrong" day.

Habits pair well with the wellness log

Habits track the things you choose to do; the daily wellness log records how the day actually went — water, steps, sleep, mood. Together they cover both sides of a routine: intent and outcome. For a shorter summary of habit tracking, see the habits feature overview.
