Install Dongu as an app

Dongu runs in any modern browser, and it can also be installed as a progressive web app (PWA). Installing gives Dongu its own icon and its own window, without an app store. The install option is built into the browser itself, so the exact wording varies slightly by browser and version.

Installing changes how Dongu opens, not what it can do. It is the same app either way. If you do not have an account yet, start with create your Dongu account.

Install on desktop (Chrome or Edge)

1. Open todongu.com in Chrome or Edge and sign in.
2. Open the browser menu and choose the install option. Some browsers also show a small install icon in the address bar.
3. Confirm. Dongu now opens in its own window and appears alongside your other installed apps.

Install on Android

1. Open todongu.com in your browser.
2. Open the browser menu.
3. Choose "Install app" or "Add to Home Screen", depending on the browser.
4. Dongu is added to your home screen and launches from its own icon.

Install on iPhone and iPad (Safari)

1. Open todongu.com in Safari.
2. Tap the Share button.
3. Choose "Add to Home Screen" and confirm.
4. Dongu appears on your home screen and launches from its icon.

Dongu needs an internet connection

Dongu is an online app. Your data is stored on the server, so loading pages and saving changes require a connection. If you open Dongu while offline, it shows an offline page until the connection returns. Installing does not make your tasks available offline.

Notifications have a related limit: reminders and due-today notifications fire only while Dongu is open. See recurring tasks and reminders for the details.

Native apps are in development

Native Android and iOS apps are in development, but they are not available yet — Dongu is not in the app stores today. Until they ship, the installed web app is the best way to put Dongu on your phone: a home-screen icon and its own window, one tap away.
