Add friends and climb the leaderboard

Dongu's social features are built on direct friendships. You add specific people, they accept, and from then on you share a leaderboard and can invite each other into boards and rooms. Nothing about your account is public — sharing happens between accepted friends only.

Send a friend request by email

Friend requests are sent to the exact email address the other person registered with. A similar-but-different address will not find them, so ask which email they used for their Dongu account.

The request stays pending until the other person accepts it. Once accepted, you appear in each other's friends lists and on each other's leaderboards.

Read the leaderboard

The leaderboard ranks you and your accepted friends by XP. Beside the ranking, each entry shows three numbers:

• Level — earned from accumulated XP; each level needs progressively more.
• Streak — consecutive days with at least one XP-earning action.
• Focus minutes — time from completed focus sessions.

XP comes from everyday use: completing tasks, checking habits, finishing focus sessions, logging wellness. The exact values, the daily fairness caps, and the UTC day boundary are covered in how XP, levels and streaks work. The daily caps also keep the leaderboard honest — nobody can grind unlimited XP in a single day.

Profile sharing is off by default

By default, the leaderboard entry is what friends see. Optional profile sharing can additionally show friends your habits, your stats, and your achievements — but it is off by default and stays off until you enable it in Settings.

If you never touch the setting, friends see your leaderboard entry and nothing more. If you like the accountability, switch sharing on and let friends see how the habits are actually going.

What friendship unlocks

Accepted friendship is the gate for Dongu's collaborative features:

• Shared boards — kanban boards where you plan and complete tasks together. Only accepted friends can be invited.
• Focus rooms — rooms that rank members by weekly or monthly focus minutes. Membership is friends-only too.

So the practical order is: exchange email addresses, send the request, accept it — and then boards and rooms open up. One friendship, three shared surfaces: the leaderboard, boards, and rooms.
