Choose your language
Dongu is available in eight languages. It follows your browser language by default, and you can override the choice in Settings.

Dongu's interface is available in eight languages, and using one takes no setup: by default, Dongu follows the language your browser already reports.
Available languages
- English
- Turkish
- Spanish
- German
- French
- Portuguese
- Russian
- Chinese (Simplified)
English is Dongu's source language. Any text that does not have a translation yet appears in English rather than being left blank.
How the browser default works
Dongu reads your browser's preferred language. If it is one of the eight supported languages, the interface appears in that language automatically — a browser set to German gets Dongu in German from the first page load. If your browser language is not supported, Dongu falls back to English.
Most browsers let you choose a preferred language in their own settings; Dongu simply respects that choice. Nothing needs to be configured inside Dongu for this to work.
Override the language in Settings
To pick a language yourself:
- Open Settings.
- Find the Language section.
- Choose one of the eight languages.
The interface switches to your choice, and you can change it again from the same place at any time. The override is useful when your browser's language and your preferred Dongu language differ — for example, a work computer set to English when you want Dongu in Turkish.
What the language setting changes
The setting translates Dongu's interface: navigation, buttons, form labels, and messages. Your own content is never translated. Task titles, notes, tag names, and category names stay exactly as you typed them, in whatever language you wrote them.
Translations catch up over time
Dongu ships new features regularly, and translations sometimes land a little after the feature itself. Some newer screens may show English text while translations catch up. This is temporary and expected. If you spot a missing or awkward translation, you can report it through the contact form.
Related setup steps
If you are still setting up, the other getting-started guides cover creating your account and installing Dongu as an app. Theme is a separate setting from language: Dongu follows your system's light or dark preference by default, and a toggle in the top bar switches it at any time.
